The Capitol and Beyond

We did the Capitol tour--counting the standing in line and the tour time, it took a couple of hours.

We saw the rotunda and the old Senate chamber--now called Statuary Hall or something like that.

And we saw the old Supreme Court chamber in the Capitol basement.

Then we went around to the east face of the building, enjoyed the view of the Mall and the Washington Monument, and the U.S. Grant Memorial.

Then we walked down Pennsylvania Avenue toward the White House and lunch.

Along the way, we passed a lot of government builldings, including the J. Edgar Hoover Building.
