Goodbye Mimi

We went to Columbus for Mimi's funeral service.


It was sad, but we got to spend time with Boomer and Kaci and Shelley, Bob, Emily and Gran, so we had some good times, too.

The Wheels

A couple of weekends ago we walked up to a nearby record shop to her our friend Larae and her band, The Wheels, play at their CD release party.

Bye Bye Marlis and Glenn

We dropped by to see Marlis and Glenn on the night before they moved to KC.

We are going to miss them so very much.

Well, we'll miss Marlis.

We'll see Glenn every Monday evening as long as Monday Night Football is on.

Labor Day

We had Glenn and Marlis and Steve over for our Labor Day cookout.

We had chicken wings and corn on the cob and a salad Lori made.

We played some ladder ball and listened to music.

This was the last time we hosted Glenn and Marlis while they lived here.

Labor Day Sunday

Glenn's band Safe Sax played a birthday party in Riverside, and we were invited.

Linda and Vince came up, with Linda's daughter Callie and son Colton.

And Steve and Emily came up, too.

The band played for two hours, and we had great food as well.

Mimi

Lori's grandmother Mimi passed away in her sleep last night.

We'll miss her so much, but we are thankful for her long and happy life, and for her peaceful passing.

In a future post, we'll show you some pictures from over the last ten years or so--hopefully, we'll all be looking at the same camera in them.

iKicker and the Squirrel

Here's some pix of a Sunday afternoon barbecue in late August.

My birthday present had arrived--an iKicker 501 iPod dock--and we were listening to music on it out back while we smoked some pork chops.

Our neighbor and lawn vandal "the squirrel" invited himself to the do--he's also in the video below.

Sicilian Night

This was our response to Tapas Night, as we had never made Italian dinner for Glenn and Marlis.

I bought a new shirt that Tony Soprano would be proud to wear, and my Michelangelo apron.

Lori got dolled up in a manner suitable for a mob guy's moll.

We had spaghetti with Italian Sausage, a tomato salad and bread with olive oil and Parmesan cheese.

After dinner we sat for group photos to commemorate the occasion. I think it's probably a good thing that the Broadheads are moving to Kansas City.
