Lori and I decided to celebrate our anniversary (#22!) with another cooking lesson at Heaven on Seven, our favorite Loop restaurant. We did this a few years ago, also getting a room at the Hotel Burnham a block and a half away. So we wanted to do it all again, this time with Marlis and Glenn.
Glenn picked Lori and me up at our house at 5:30 Friday afternoon, and we all met Marlis in the lobby, checked in, got a glass of wine, and went up to our rooms, which were pretty spectacular as you can see. Lori and I received a free upgrade to a suite because it was available and they do that for people celebrating their anniversaries, apparently--Marlis arranged it all. There's a short video tour of the room at the bottom.
The view out our window was east, down Washington Avenue toward Grant Park and the lake. We also had views north and south on State Street.
Oh, and we had complementary robes, too--grrrrrowl!
At about 6:15 Marlis and Glenn came back down to our room, we talked for a few minutes, then walked down to the Cajun restaurant, which is Part 2, coming soon.
