New Year's Weekend

It was a long holiday, what with New Year's Eve coming on a Friday, N.Y. Day on a Saturday, and then having Sunday to recover.

Julie and John Laney (not a very good picture--sorry) invited us over for New Year's Eve, and we had great fun with them. We got to see Devon, their daughter, and Dylan, their son and Sam's best friend from high school.

New Year's Day Lori and I had our traditional Hoppin' John--black-eyed peas with kielbasa and rice, plus sauerkraut, which I'm warming up to.

Sunday we skipped our normal brunch at Wishbone and made our own of bacon, omelet, grits and biscuit.

Then we watched the Bears-Packers game. The Bears lost in a tight game, but they had nothing to lose except the game, so it wasn't too much of a bummer.

It was a hoppin' weekend, all told.
