This morning (Thursday), we got up, checked out of the hotel (noting a dumpster-diving crane on the way out), and drove to the Cardinals spring training complex, where we walked past the Cardinals' Clubhouse and out to the major-league practice fields to watched the players run drills and do some batting practice.
We saw Albert Pujols, Chris Carpenter, Yadier Molina, Ryan Franklin, Tony LaRussa, Dave Duncan and Brad Penny, among others, all up close.
I think it was the coolest baseball experience I have ever had in my life.
