We had tickets to Monday's home opener at Sox Park, but the game was postponed due to--yes, you guessed it--snow. So we went on Tuesday, with a forecast high of 38 and northerly winds at 30 mph, gusting to 40.
We dressed appropriately for Chicago baseball: long johns, lined pants, snow boots, etc. Took the Blue Line in, transferred to the Red Line down to 35th Street.
The opening ceremonies were cool, as always. Check out the video for a sample.
It was a good game. Kansas City led 2-1 until the eighth inning, when the Sox put two men on, and Jim Thome jacked one that landed about eight rows in front of us. The game ended with the score Sox 4, Royals 2.
