Thursday Evening

We didn't get any shots during the day on Thursday, or else we somehow lost them--think there was more swimming by Lori and others.

Perhaps this was the day Pat and I helped Kevin finish up the one small section of beach he hadn't yet cleaned up at Dad's request.

I'm pretty sure we had one of Mom's lunches again at the cabin--always a treat.

Then Mom and Dad went off-island to a home communion, while the rest of us went to Chuck's Place. Lori and I got our second Fishwich of the year, and Kevin and Pat tried their first ever. I think they'll be back next time they're up. No picture of the sandwich this time, but you can see one here.

When we got back, we built a fire on the beach and waited for Mom and Dad to get back. They did, but it was late and we weren't on the beach for long before we had to put the fire out and head back up. But not before S'mores were eaten.

Wednesday Evening

We had our happy hour up at the Big House again, and Kevin and Pat made shish kabobs.

The we sat out on the back porch and talked until it got dark.

Wednesday

Kevin got out and did some more work for Dad in the morning--he outdid me here on this trip, by about 10-1.

Lori and I checked our mail upstairs, and discovered Bastard Toadflax's nephew cruising on the swing-out windows.

Then we had a delicious lunch at the cabin, and sat around for awhile.

Finally that afternoon, Mom, Kevin, Pat, Lori and I went into Four Corners to shop a little, and to get some water.

Thanks to Lori for the butt shot.

Tuesday Night

We had Amy and Les over for quasi-smoked pork chops, sweet potato fries and tomato salad. Oh, and berry cobbler.

Some of us sat on the front porch in the shade for a while.

We had a singalong after dinner.

And the theme of the evening was old style, new style. In old style photography, subjects had to hold their poses for long exposures, so they couldn't smile. We tried to give both styles in our posed shots here.

After all the activity earlier in the evening, we just sat around and talked.

Tuesday

This was the day we got the raft out into the water.

It was a group endeavor, but Kevin was the busiest member of the group.

After it was out, some went in the water, some took turns in the hammock, and some sat on the deck.

Shortly thereafter, it was happy hour time, and Amy and Les came over for dinner--that's next!

Monday and Monday Night

We went into Four Corners for a few supplies--primarily ice and beer.

Lori thought Mike's place was bearable.

Some got in the lake after lunch.

Later that afternoon, Kevin and I broke out the guitars for the first time.

Lori laid in her hammock on the porch and took pictures of her freshly painted toenails.

Pat and Kevin made dinner. A roasted chicken, with creamed onions, purple-hulled peas, sliced tomatoes and a salad. And cobbler for dessert--really, we had cobbler for dessert every night, including Sunday when Kevin made a blackberry one. I'm not gonna say "Cobbler for dessert" every time.

Mom grabbed dibs on the chicken carcass, but I don't think dibs were really all that necessary.

Sunday Night Baseball

Sunday afternoon and evening were relaxing and fun.

Some of us took a walk.

Some played dominos.

The girls got into the hot tub with their drinks.

I made barbecued jambalaya.

We tried to get the Cards/Cubs game on the satellite TV, but the package at this house did not include ESPN, so we listened to it on the XM radio instead. St. Louis eventually won in extra innings, but by then most everyone had gone to bed.
