Gran's Party, Day 1

Last Friday we drove to Columbus for Granny's 90th birthday party.

Friday night Shelley grilled chicken and made a home-grown cucumber salad.

Later there was funky dancing.

July 5th, with Sam

We drove home via Peoria and stopped to see Sam.

He showed us the house he' staying in for the summer, then we took him shopping at Target.

After that, we picked Hillary up and went downtown for dinner.

July 4, 2010

We got up on Sunday and had another wonderful breakfast at the Inn.

Then we caravan-ed to Shawnee, Kansas, to Marlis and Glenn's new house for a July 4th party.

Right-wing neighbor Charlie dropped by and got an earful before he left, and lots of friends of the family came over.

We had water pistols.

Becky has legs and knows how to use them.

Linda and Vince opened some of their wedding presents.

I grilled hot dogs, brats and polish sausages.

And later in the evening, there were sparklers!

But the highlight of the day was Emily on the Sit 'n' Spin.

Vince and Linda, Part 3

At about 5:30, final preparations for the wedding began--Glenn and I had a drink on the sun porch.

Oh, and also, the bride and groom began getting dressed. Lori went with Marlis and her girls to help Linda.

I took Vince a drink, and stayed to take pictures of his gussying up for the nuptials.

At seven, all was ready. I walked to the platform, followed by maid-of-honor Kallen, then Vince.

Finally, best man Kolton escorted his mother the bride in, and the ceremony began.

Vince and Linda had written their own vows, and read them.

We ended, no surprise here, with a big kiss. Then the party began.
