Some Fall Shots

Taking a page from MoMich, our flower of this entry (and of all the entries, most likely) is the last rose in our back yard. Actually, this one is on a branch of our neighbors' rose bush that sticks through the fence we share.

Next there are pictures of the mid-October foliage at the Maze and Dole branches that Lori manages.

Then some pictures of the IIT campus.

Finally, the now-obligatory view out my office window.

And a little more Drummond time

Sunday we went to church--Dad celebrated communion and Mom played piano.


Afterward, we walked down to the Mainsail Restaurant for lunch with friends--Pete, Sandy, Vesta, Joe, Ann, Candace, Jurgen, Lou, Jim, Sandra and Greg and Lori--Lori was the camera operator so she's not in the shot.



Sunday night Lori got another beautiful sunset shot, and a moonrise shot, too.



Monday morning I took the picture of the shedding deciduous conifer up on the driveway.

More Drummond

A couple of new things up on the island--a chicken shack and a giant rocking chair to be specific.

We played games--dominoes and Euchre.


And Mom and Lori sat in the Adirondack chairs one last time on the day we put them away.

Catch Up

My apologies, gentle readers, for going three weeks without posting. It's been a very busy time for us since coming back from our brief trip to Drummond.

We'll start with a picture of our "accidentally" coordinated Bears Sunday outfits--I put mine on first.

Next are a few shots of our drive up to Drummond, and the beautiful autumn scenery that greeted us.

Finally, some pix of our first full day there, unpotting flowers. And Dad getting some shots for MoMich.

Sox and Beyond

Saturday night we went to see the Sox take on the Indians.

The temperature was in the 40s, the wind was swirling, and it rained.

Good times!

Sunday afternoon, as we were leaving for brunch at Wishbone, I asked Lori, "Are you sure you want to wear blue jeans, a blue Bears shirt and a green jacket?"

"Why shouldn't I?" she responded.

Five Courses Outdoorses

On the night of my birthday, we went to Jimmy's, a very homey Italian place in Forest Park.

We got their date night special, which was an appetizer, two pasta dishes and dessert for about $30.

It was great, but it was too much food. So we brought half home in doggie bags, and had it again the next evening in the backyard.

Our five courses were (1) bread with olive oil and romano cheese, (2) deep fried mushrooms, (3) salad, (4) our respective pasta dishes, and (5) double chocolate cheesecake, which we shared.

And Harley made friends with our newest lawn ornament--he looks a bit jealous, I think.

Last Warm Day...

...for a while, anyway, The weather is supposed to turn cold and wet tonight, just in time for our Sox-Indians game tomorrow evening.

But I was outside with the animals enjoying the air today, and I thought I'd share that with you, loyal reader.
